Just before my show in Newport I was loading my car with paintings…

After I pulled up to the venue to unload, I realized that I had left a painting on top of my car. Yes, on top of the car. The painting was gone. Somewhere between here and there and the highway. I had accepted it was gone.

As I returned to the studio later to bring paintings back, on a hunch, I drove by an area I remembered having to jam my brakes on just before getting on the highway. There, in the middle of the median, unharmed, was my painting! Woohoo! The feeling of relief was palpable.

I picked it up and cleaned it off, and now I triple-check the roof of my car when loading.
